On Friday, October 27th, sixth graders had their first middle school dance. The theme of the dance was Halloween and the students were able to dress in their favorite costumes. The dance took place in the cafeteria and games were set up in the SBDM room down the hall.

Feedback from the students who attended the dance was mostly positive. Quinn Padgett, sixth grader, said, “I liked the games at the dance, especially winning two liters.” While most of the boys were playing games, the girls were busy dancing. “I loved the music played at the dance, for my costume I was dressed as a nerd.” said Madie Lecky, sixth grader.

Amongst the dancing, games, and snacks, a costume contest was held. Awards were given to the best boy and best girl costumes of the night. Chanuthmi Abeysinghe, sixth grader, won best girl costume of the night and said, “For my costume I was dressed as Cleopatra. I won best girls costume of the night and received a gift card to Graeter’s.” Boys best costume went to Kian Daly, sixth grader, who was dressed as Gene Simmons from KISS. Daly said, “The dance was pretty fun, I mostly enjoyed winning the costume contest.”
