The middle school has added multiple faculty members to the nest. An example of a new member is Mrs. Klepeisz, sixth and seventh grade teacher. She joined the nest and teaches sixth and seventh grade social studies and sixth and seventh grade language arts.

Mrs. Klepeisz knew that the middle school had a good reputation which lead her to apply for a teaching position. “I grew up in Campbell County, and I did my student teaching at Highlands. I knew it was a great school. When I realized there was an open position, I decided to apply,” said Mrs. Klepeisz.

Her students are eager to learn new things in her social studies and language arts class. “I taught at Campbell County Middle School for 16 years. I have taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade language arts and social studies,” said Mrs. Klepeisz. In her class, students enjoy multiple things. “Our daily grammar practice for language arts are fun because she uses funny sentences that make it more enjoyable,” said Lacey Mack, sixth grader. Mack is not the only student that enjoys learning new things in Mrs. Klepeisz’s class. “Something I enjoy about Mrs. Klepeisz’s class is that she makes language arts fun when you are bored. Sometimes when we come into the class she has a slide saying welcome my babies,” said Owen Lecky, sixth grader.

Students don’t just expand their mind sets in language arts, but in social studies as well. “In social studies, I enjoy learning about the African culture,” said Alex Deegan, sixth grader. Not only does she teach sixth grade, but Mrs. Klepeisz teaches seventh grade language arts and social studies too. Seventh grade students enjoy learning new things in her class also. When describing his favorite thing about her social studies class, Will Harold, seventh grader, said, “Probably learning about the ancient Egyptians, and how they relate to us.”

Students enjoy learning new things, but they also enjoy spending the class period with Mrs. Klepeisz. “She always treats us like we’re her children. She’s super nice and lets us do a lot of fun things,” said Mack. Mack enjoys the fact that she feels loved in Mrs. Klepeisz’s class and enjoys Mrs. Klepeisz’s company, as do other students. “She has a really good sense of humor,” said Harold, which is a reason why he likes Mrs. Klepeisz.

Not only do the students enjoy her company, but teachers do as well. Ever since Mrs. Klepeisz joined the nest, she has made multiple teacher and faculty friends. “She’s always been very, very friendly. She’s been really easy to talk to. We’re similar and her personality is awesome,” said Mrs. Ewald, sixth and seventh grade teacher, when describing Mrs. Klepeisz. “Mrs. Klepeisz has an amazingly positive and supportive personality. She’s always smiling, upbeat and shows a real YES mindset. She’s someone that you enjoy being around,” said Mr. Howton, Principal, when characterizing the new addition to the nest.

Mr. Howton hired Mrs. Klepeisz for numerous reasons. “Mrs. Klepeisz had a great deal of experience and an ability to teach both Language Arts and Social Studies, so our third team fit her perfectly. She has such a genuine and hardworking personality and displays a great deal of care about her students and their success,” said Mr. Howton. He also said, “She’s a great teacher for a number of reasons. She has an extensive knowledge of her content and tries hard to create lessons that are interesting and engaging to her students. She’s shown to be a very collaborative and support staff member by working with both the social students, teachers, and the language arts teachers. And most importantly, she wants to be great at what she does, teaching,” said Mr. Howton.

Mr. Howton said, “I think she is feeling welcomed and hope that students continue to say hi and tell her they are glad she’s part of our community.”
